Devlog 08: Sprint 2.3

Sprint finish!

The core is done. With this devlog we end the second sprit.

Sintija worked further on throwing the scrap to the teammates to make the game more team spirited. Other than that mostly focus on fixing bugs related to the gameplay and some fail saves for unlikely situations- such as if the scrap leaves the map and players are unable to continue the game. She also implemented lights on the back and shoulders of the robot, they now light up when robot is recharged and ready to dash, and go dark when a dash is used.

This week Tamy started with making the animation ready to imply them in unreal. She made the animation blueprint in our unreal project. Next to this Tamy could not do much extra. Sadly she fell sick this week.

Leon worked on the animation state machine with Tamy. Thereafter, he added an closing particle to the doors. At last he fix some bugs in connection with the third dash kill.

Meanwhile Jasper finished up on making the rest of the player-character animations. He made animations of the robots falling over with animations for each of the four main-directions, he also made two animations for the robots for when the game has ended. Jasper also implemented the timer in unreal and blueprinted it so that the timer flaps out and is shown during 30-second intervals or when a point is scored. The timer stays open in the final stretch so that everyone can witness the final countdown! He was also helping with looking for-and fixing bugs at the end of the production-week.

This week Jake has created sound effects for the door toggling, player throwing scrap, an ambient sound for the furnace, UI sounds for the main menu and implemented all of the production sprint 2 sounds into the project.

The next to weeks we won’t add anymore feature. These two weeks are mend for polishing the game.

See you next week!
