Devlog 10: Polish 2.0


Release!

As our time working on FurnaceFeeders came to a close, we spent most of our time playtesting and having fun playing the game that we made from scratch. This is our last Devlog; this journey was filled with a lot of changes as our original idea of the game was transformed almost entirely in the first few weeks, however, it was also a great learning opportunity. I hope you enjoy our game as much as we do, and hope to see you in other projects!

This week Sintija most of the time spent play-testing and making sure that there are no bugs that could make the game unplayable. Polishing the game features once again, and preparing for the final build.

Jake has created music for the main menu as well as finishing the implementation for all of the sounds in the game and tweaking the final mix.

Jasper worked on fixing the exploding robots so that the collision wouldn't mess around with the scrap and player physics too much. He also did some slight texture updates and encountered his nemesis. The Furnace doors! What first looked like an easy update for the working opening and closing furnace doors was a bigger challenge than expected but thanks to the help of Sintija we got it to work as intended. He also further helped with the playtesting and ironing out some of the bugs.


Leon work on the player team choosing widget and helped with bug fixing. He tried to implement destructible meshes for extra polish but this eventually didn't add something extra to the game. Primarily he playtested the game and work on the presentation.

This week, Tamy work on the widgets in the game. The menu-, End-, In-game- and controller widget. She also(With help of Sintija) work on the menu BP so we can use a controller in the menu. Next to this, we all together playtested the game a lot this week and changed small things when doing this.
