Devlog 09: Polish 1.0
Polish
Welcome back! This week was our first polish week. This means that we have some spicy details added to our game.
Tamy worked this week on implying the win/lose animations in the blueprints. So when the game ends, our characters has the winning or losing dance. Next to that, she also worked further on the 3D menu background(that has animations in the wheels) and menu widget screen. The Furnace feeders name still need to be played with. It's now a basic place holder.
This week Sintija mostly focused on bug fixes and making the gameplay as smooth as possible. Other than perfecting the game mechanics- the biggest one being team selection-, she also experimented with some light assets throughout the level, to make the gameplay feel as nice as possible.
Jasper finished the door animation. He also added pulsating light when the timer is on the last 10 seconds. He worked on fixing the animation.
Leon added primarily extra detail and polish when scoring. For example he made a burning scorch mark that spawns in the furnace when scored. Next he added two effect in the background. First the cogwheels rotate faster when scored. Second a red orange burning light lits up the background. He also made a particle when the scrap hit the wall. And he added some detail to the level floor.
Jake has been tweaking the mix and working on the last couple of additional sound effects.
Next week is the last. We are pretty hyped to finish this game and hopefully provide you a finish, polished and fun product.
